THE GERMAN SPOKE ABOUT HIS PERFORMANCE ON THE PITCH

Mesut Özil is currently with the German national team in preparation for the 2014 World qualifiers to be played over the next few days and gave an interview to 'Kicker' magazine.
Özil spoke about the current situation in the German national team as well as with Real Madrid, and confessed that "walking around the streets of Madrid is unbelievable. The fans are incredible. Naturally they make me feel proud and happy".
"Mourinho knows what I can do and I'm grateful he has faith in me," he said regarding his performance on the pitch.
Özil also had something to say about the Spanish press: "I have been living in Madrid for three years and I have got used to the Spanish media. The journalists tend to adopt a certain tone, although sometimes they go too far. But the season has only just begun," the Madrid number 10 said optimistically.
The German international also highlighted some important differences between Spanish football and that of his homeland. "The atmosphere when I play in the Santiago Bernabéu is special. It's amazing," he admitted. He also pointed out that his life is not as laid back as when he was in Germany.
"The 'paparazzi' are much worse. In Germany you can go out and eat in a restaurant without people taking a lot of photos. In Madrid this is impossible," Özil claimed. “Here, Real Madrid is all that matters."
