Henrik Larsson is sitting on the fence when it comes to tonight's match-up between Barcelona and Celtic. He spent seven long seasons at Celtic, where he enjoys full-on legendary status, and although he was only at Barça for two campaigns, he certainly made his mark there, becoming a firm crowd favourite.
"I remember my time at Celtic and Barcelona fondly. They are two important clubs that represent two different cities and cultures. I can't choose between them because it wouldn't be fair on me, so here's hoping the best team wins and they put on a real show. That said, I think Barça is the favourite", he stated.
Reflecting on his spell in Barcelona, Larsson said: "I only spent two years there, but the fans took to me because even though I didn't have the skill of Ronaldinho, I was a hard worker and always gave my all for the team. I think the people appreciated that and that's why they look back at me with pride".
Finally, Larsson waded into the debate over the Ballon d'Or: "Messi is the best player in the world, no doubt about it. For me he is better than Cristiano". However, the Swede also threw a former teammate's hat into the ring: "I think Xavi would be a worthy winner. He's a wonderful player and a wonderful human being. If he wins, it will be well deserved".
