"Everything's gone the way Cesc's told me"

Alex Song says he has adapted perfectly

Alex Song feels more and more at home in Barcelona with every passing day. The Cameroon international told the club's official magazine about his experiences acclimatising to his new surroundings: "The food's great, I've liked what I've seen of the city and we have a great team. Everything's perfect. It was an easy choice to come here and I'm adapting well", he said.
This process has been poles apart from what Song went through when he joined Arsenal, when he would only eat bread and butter and didn't know anyone.
One of the keys to Song finding his feet in Barcelona has been Cesc Fàbregas, his former Arsenal teammate: "I have asked him for advice, because he knows Barcelona, both the club and the city, inside out. He was born here and he has been really helpful. He told me what to do and what not to, and everything's gone the way he's told me".
Cesc went out of his way to make the Cameroonian feel welcome from the beginning: "I've known him for a long time and I even stayed at his house during my first few days here. He's a good friend. He tries to help me in every training session and match, both on and off the pitch".
Those members of the Barcelona squad not away on international duty resumed training on Tuesday, having been given the last few days off. This was the last session without the club's Spain internationals, who will report back on Wednesday afternoon.
