MARCA.COM

Chelsea and the British police have asked for the public to help identify a fan that was caught on camera making a racist gesture during the cup match against Manchester United, in order to " take the strongest possible action" against the individual, " including supporting criminal prosecution."
The image has appeared in the British media and shows a fan making a monkey gesture directed at Danny Welbeck, the black forward who plays for Manchester United.
A statement from the club read "Chelsea Football Club can confirm we are investigating an incident (...) The club will be examining all available footage and asks anyone who can identify the individual to contact the club. Chelsea FC is committed to removing all forms of discrimination and if we have sufficient evidence we will take the strongest possible action, including supporting criminal prosecution."
The British police has also announced that "an investigation has been launched. There have been no arrests and enquiries continue." The incident comes just three days after Chelsea lodged a formal complaint against referee Mark Clattenburg for supposedly using racist language against its midfielder John Obi Mikel, accusations that are being looked into by the Football Association.
