Messi's scorchining November

Leo Messi has had a scorching November. The striker has been picked for all Barça's games and has only failed to score on one occasion: against Celta de Vigo. In the other four matches he scored no less than seven times.
The day before his son Thiago was born, the Argentinian was unable to score in the Camp Nou against Celta and dedicate a goal to his new-born child. It wasn't long before he made amends however. Three days later in Glasgow Messi managed to score in the closing stages of the match, although it wasn't enough to avoid his team being defeated. This is the only game where he has scored just once, having scored twice in all the others.
Messi scored twice against Mallorca and Zaragoza in la Liga and did the same against Spartak Moscow in the Champions League, which has become his trademark this season. It seems he is no longer content to score just the one. So far this season he has racked up nine braces and one hat-trick. That's 10 games now where the Argentine has scored two or more, quite a remarkable feat.
Vilanova stated in Moscow that Leo doesn't play to break individual records but plays for the good of the team. He himself has said that personal glory is not what drives him, but anyone that knows him understands full well that a player of his calibre needs something to aim for. And breaking records fits the bill nicely.
