Barcelona playing and winning, dancing to Messi's tune

Barcelona did not need to step on the accelerator to beat a Zaragoza side which tried hard, seeing that the opposition was not playing all out, but which came up, as almost all teams do, against Leo Messi, who scored two goals and made the other for his Cameroonian teammate Alex Song
Messi scored his goals in the 15th and 60th minutes, the first from a pass by Jordi Alba, and the second on receiving the ball from Montoya, but in both cases it was Messi himself who started each move, playing the ball out to his teammates and then following through, to end by scoring the goals.
He also had time to create a wonderful move in the Zaragoza area, dribbling past three defenders and sending an accurate pass to Song in the 28th minute, for him to score his first goal in a Barcelona shirt.
But Zaragoza did not give up after Messi’s first goal, and drew level quite quickly with a goal from Montoya in the 23rd minute, after another defensive slip by Barcelona. Not even the return of Puyol, enthusiastically welcomed by the fans, could help Valdés keep a clean sheet.
The visitors ran out onto the field for the second half ready for anything, pressing forward, and it took the third goal for their appetite for a positive outcome at the Camp Nou to die away. One thing is certain, Zaragoza manager Manolo Jiménez would be able to leave with some satisfaction as his players gave a good account of themselves.
