I’m not saying he’ll stay there forever. There's every chance he might leave, you never know".
That Cristiano Ronaldo might go back to Manchester is almost impossible. "I don't think it will happen but I'd like to think it would. You are talking about incredible amounts of money now. What would his value be now?" the Scottish manager wondered.
"He’s definitely unbuyable while he is at his peak. Who could afford him? Maybe one of the Russian sides could but do you think he would want to go to Russia? He used to complain about the weather in England. Can you imagine a winter in Russia? Crikey!", joked Ferguson.
For Sir Alex, Cristiano is the number one. "He is an incredible player, one of the best; there is no doubt about that. We never had any problems with him". Although Messi gets all the recognition: "If Real Madrid had won the Champions League in the last few years, Cristiano Ronaldo would have been the best player in the world, there is absolutely no doubt about that".
All the same, Ferguson sees just one small defect in Cristiano Ronaldo, and it is nothing to do with football: "He liked to look at himself in the mirror a wee bit. The players used to give him stick for that. That was a small handicap – if he had any handicaps".
