Barça: Tito Vilanova goes for another record against Celtic

MARCA.COM

Tito Vilanova has quietly taken up his place in the Barcelona dugout, winning over the fans based on his success and by beating the seemingly unattainable records which Guardiola left in his wake. Last weekend, Barcelona achieved its best Liga start in the club's history.
If Barcelona beats Celtic, he will beat Pep Guardiola's best start in the competition. Tito has managed it by getting the best out of his players, making decisions which have shown character and taking risks.
Pep was terrified of Messi's reactions. He always tried to please him and avoid any kind of conflict. Vilanova has been able to handle Leo perfectly well, even resting him on the back of one of his international appearances after sitting down with him for a quiet chat. There was no drama. Leo remains happy and continues to score.
Cesc began the season performing well below the level of which he is capable of. But Vilanova kept betting on him blindly. That confidence has been the key to Fàbregas playing a big role, scoring goals and providing assists. The fans are behind him once again.
The problems with the Barcelona defence are unusual. The coach has been left without Alves, Puyol, Piqué, Alba, Adriano, Mascherano and Busquets at times, either through injury or suspension. Nevertheless, he has quite ably overcome all these problems.
