Álvaro Morata salvaged two points for Real Madrid at the Ciutat de Valencia stadium in the closing minutes of the match. A draw would have given the distinct impression that la Liga was slipping away from Mourinho's team. In an act of faith, however, his players clinched the win in the 88th minute.
It is not the first time this season that Madrid has gone from being out of a competition to, at the last moment, being right back in it. The team is playing with fire and showing its most epic side, with all the suspense that goes along with it.
It all started in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup when, in the 85th minute, Di María battled for a ball that Víctor Valdés had at his feet. The Argentine struck gold there and scored the second goal for his team. It was the 3-2, a result that later (in the return leg) enabled Mourinho's team to win its first title of the season.
In the first Champions League match against Manchester City, Madrid again responded on the home straight. Benzema managed to score in the 87th minute and Cristiano Ronaldo sealed the 3-2 in the 90th. Three miraculous points.
It also happened recently against Borussia Dortmund when the 'Blancos' team was losing (1-2) and Özil brought about a valuable draw in the 89th minute.
It was Morata who confirmed that the team's suffering in the league.
