Modric unleashed and Callejón blinding

Real Madrid dispensed with the formalities against Ajax (4-1), bringing the first phase of the Champions League to a close with a victory accepted by the terraces without any apparent judgement. Cristiano, Callejón (2) and Kaká put in the 'Blancos' goals although the match was notable for other reasons.
Luka Modric put on his best show since becoming a Real Madrid player in two brilliant moves that ended in goals. It was one of the night’s best pieces of news for the Madrid side.
José Mourinho drew attention to himself yet again. The Portuguese decided to take Kaká off halfway through the first half, sending José Rodríguez on in his place who, at 17 years and 354 days old, is now the youngest player in Real Madrid history to make a Champions League debut, depriving Raúl of that record.
Kaká was wearing the captain's armband which he gave to José Rodrigúez who, in turn, passed it to keeper, Adán, an infrequent player on the pitch although he has been with Real Madrid for many years. Mourinho, however, signalled very clearly from the bench to tell Adán to give the captain's armband to Pepe.
Besides that, the curse of the Real Madrid left back continued. Fabio Coentrao picked up an injury during the course of the Ajax clash, a muscular problem forcing him to leave the pitch and be replaced by Pepe.
