Modric: "From now on I'm going to play better"

Luka Modric, who's had sparse media coverage of late, commented on Madrid's upcoming game against Ajax, in which he's set to start, and how he's felt during his first few months at Real Madrid.
"I'm more comfortable in the midfield, playing alongside Xabi and Khedira", the Croat stated. "I'm making quite good progress. La Liga is tough, especially when you're playing away from home, because every team has technically gifted players. It's true that not having the right attitude can create problems. I've liked playing in La Liga so far because it's a strong league, much stronger than I had expected", he said.
"From now on, I think I'm going to play better. I've adapted well", he said, adding that he hopes to continue with Mourinho in the future: "The only thing I can say on the matter is that he has a long contract with Real Madrid and I think that's the best thing to say. I hope that he stays here a very long time".
Regarding where he plays on the pitch, he said: "When I arrived, I tried to do the best I could no matter where I was played", although he admitted that his natural position is in central midfield. "Mourinho wants me to play as I did at Tottenham, but with more speed and aggression. That's what the coach has asked of me", he stated.
